I would like to be able to collaborate with a teacher and create a resource page for the students to use as a pathfinder.

I suppose I could use this to introduce a new unit and/or wrap up an assignment by encouraging class discussions and student feedback.

I think, if well-trained in the program, students can use this tool to collaborate more effectively outside the classroom! I also think we can be more environmentally friendly, helping students to be more comfortable with electronic copies of documents, as opposed to paper copies.

I think each student could become responsible for a specific step in the production process, ie., images, blog, word, research topics, iphoto, and so on. I can also check out laptops and reserve computer labs for student access to project material.

In my class, collaboration takes place as hands-on learning. I could see using a wiki to have a class "discussion" afterwards to get feedback from students regarding the class activities.

I currently manage collaborative projects by having students work in cooperative learning groups. The paperwork is overwhelming. I would use this for lab write ups, projects (science fair etc...) Can also eliminate journaling, and have worksheets sent home to be submitted electronically.

One of the key things I need to do to make sure students can use Web 2.0 tools effectively is spend adequate time training them.

Students spend so much time on line that we perceive their skills to be far superior than they are. In fact, most the skills they have do not translate well to the school environment.

Once they are trained and given consistent practice, they can soar!
